Working Legs:
A Play for People Without Them

A nearly fatal road accident condemns Able McMann to walk around in a world where the overwhelming majority are comfortable in wheelchairs: he is therefore registered as hypermanic by the Social Welfare Services at a time when government spending on these is being reduced.

This play shows the sorrow, love and struggle through which Able at last triumphs over his pitiable condition. This tragicomedy was written for 'Birds of Paradise', a Glasgow based company that stages plays with physically disabled actors.

It is published with financial help from both the Glasgow City and Scottish Arts councils.
